TETRA
July 2, 2016 - May 20, 2019
Black Bershire

Tetra and Zinni were the first two rats we had together.  We adopted them at 6 weeks of age in August of 2016.
From August until February, Tet and Zinni were the only rats we had.

Zinni unfortunately suffered from chronic genetic respiratory infections, and eventually developed lung cancer, and passed very young as a result.  She was Jacob's heart rat.
Tetra went on to be one of our oldest rats ever, and ultimately we lost her to generic age-related issues.

In February 2017, we brought Paris into our home after finding her posted for sale on Facebook.
Just a week later, we brought Dot home, who later became better known as "Dooter," due to the noise she made due to her genetic chronic respiratory issues.

In April, we also added Lilly to the mix. Lilly was timid and shy, but the most beautiful and sweet girl.

Black Hooded

In late April of 2017, we added JoJo to our mischief, after also finding him posted for sale on Facebook. JoJo was the first boy rat we had, and we were so impressed with his chill demeanor and love of cuddles, we knew he was with us to stay.

Since JoJo was our only boy, we  soon purchased Dio to be JoJo's cage mate.
Dio went on to be our founding buck, fathering the October 2017 litter.
Both boys will forever hold a very special place in our hearts!

In May of 2017, Keisha and Taneisha were entrusted to our care by my sister who had come to a point in her life where pets were not an option.

We gladly took the girls in (who were Lilly's nieces), and welcomed them to our fastly growing group!

Keisha became one of our most memorable girls, and Taneisha was our founding doe!

In October 2017, we had our first litter.

Taneisha was our founding doe, and Dio our founding buck.  Of their 13 offspring, we kept four.
L and Suzy were never bred, although two of their sisters went to RavynMoon Rattery where they helped continue the lineage.
Jo was paired with both Paris and Jolyne but never had success.

Gio sired Jolyne's July 2019 litter.

Lucy was such a special little soul, she was referred to as "dog-like" more than once. She loved sitting on your shoulder or lap, giving kisses, and stealing snacks.

Lucy was the first rat brought into our rattery with the express purpose of adding her to our breeding program.

Unfortunately, her first and only litter were all stillborn, but Lucy lived out her life with us here at LFNP as Bree's beloved heart rat.

Jolyne, Dingus, and Illumi were the next rats brought in with the intent of helping along our breeding projects.
Jolyne came from RavynMoon Rattery, out of a breeding from one of our girls they had taken from our October 2017 litter, so in a sense, we just brought her back home!

Jolyne and Illumi were instrumental in bettering and furthering our goals.
Poor Dingus, much like Lucy, was met with complete litter failure, but she also lived out her life happily as our personal pet.

Doofus came to us rather unexpectedly. We went to Indianapolis to pick pick up Dingus and Illumi, and ended up taking Doof home as well.
Buell also joined us in the fall of 2018, a special boy from our friends at Underworld Rodentry
Sadly, neither boy was able to be used in our breeding program, but these two BFFs enjoyed long lives as our beloved pets.

Pretty Delilah came to us from Terra-Fauna Exotics as an emergency foster mom for Dingus' litter in early 2019.
Unfortunately, despite Delilah's attempts, all the babies from Dingus' litter passed, but Delilah had found her way into our hearts and our mischief, and she became a permanent resident.
Delilah was our go-to "nanny," she was so patient with the babies, and seemed to genuinely enjoy their company.  Raising litters hasn't been the same without her!

Gon, Killua, Leorio, and Holly were our holdbacks from our April 2019 litter.
Holly was the dam of our November 2019 litter.

All four of these big gorgeous rats had personalities to die for. They certainly helped us continue the legacy of Illumi.

Through this litter and their offspring, we also discovered the presence of a mysterious coat type in our line. As is obvious in Holly's photo especially, the rats from this line, although previously thought of and documented as "Satin Rex," displayed an odd molting pattern later in life similar to Lykoi cats.
Sadly, due to prevalent cancer in the line, we never did discover the truth of their coats. Due to this uncertainty, all rats from Illumi's line are documented simply as "Satin Rex."

Johnny and Ruby came to our rattery on the same day in the spring of 2019, as we had intentions of starting a Marten line. Sadly, Johnny displayed some minor neurological issues, and so he was never bred, and Ruby aged out before we found another suitable male for her. Both rats lived long and wonderful lives here with us at LFNP, and we miss them dearly.

Pippin, Dipper, Jotaro, and Moe Moe were our only four babies from the July 2019 litter, and of course we kept them all.
Jotaro was the father of the June 2020 litter, and while none of his siblings were ever bred, they were very much loved during their time with us as pets.

Dipper and Jo both passed away peacefully at home in their beds, while both girls were helped across the bridge after complications from mammary tumors.

Pearl and Polnareff were our picks of the November 2019 litter.
Both of these blue sweehearts loved human interaction in any form they could get it.
Polnareff went on to be the father of our March 2020 litter, and
Pearl was the mother of our June 2020 litter.
While they both left us too early, their legacies live on in their offspring, and we count ourselves blessed to have known and loved them both.

Russian Blue Agouti Satin Rex Berkshire

Schmee was the first Siamese here at LFNP, and one of our most beloved girls. She came to us from RavynMoon Rattery, and was the mother of our March 2020 litter.
Sadly, Schmee passed from complications of a brain tumor.
Speck, one of our holdbacks from Schmee's litter, and Bree's favorite, sadly suffered from neurological issues and was assisted across the bridge at a young age to avoid suffering.
Josuke sadly displayed incredibly aggressive tendencies, and was lead across the bridge to avoid his own mental suffering as well as the harm of ourselves and our other rats.
We had big breeding plans for Squee, but sadly due to the neurological issues in her siblings, Squee was able to "retire" nice and young, living the rest of her life as one of our most memorable ladies.

Nami and her sister Robin were the first two outside rats brought into our rattery since early 2019; they arrived with us in June 2020 from our friends at Terra-Fauna Exotics.

Nami was a spunky, petite little thing, but a darling when handled.
Robin was the mother of our November 2020 litter, and a gem in every way.

We miss them both dearly!

Rose, Opal, and Star Platinum were our holdbacks from the June 2020 litter.

Opal was such a calm and polite soul, she was perfect with the babies and loved meeting new people!

Rose was Bree's "Heart Rat 2.0," her personality so much like Lucy's that it was unreal.
Both of these beloved girls are missed so much.

Star was the father of our November 2020 litter, and the personality mirror of his dad Jotaro, hence his name.
Star passed of age-related complications just barely shy of his 2nd birthday.

SILVER CHARIOT
November 28, 2020 - December 11, 2022
Russian Blue Satin Rex Berkshire

Bobbie, Purl, Scarlett, and Silver Chariot were our four holdbacks from Robin and Star's November 2020 litter.

Purl, named lovingly after her grandma
Pearl - because she is the spitting image of Pearl in every way - was a litter favorite from a very young age. Before our decision to halt breeding, Purl was our main contender for continuing our line. She was perfectly "squishy," and loved a good scratch on the head.

Bobbie got her name because she somehow degloved the bottom fourth of her tail as a baby, leaving her "bob-tailed" after it healed.
She kept up this chaotic energy throughout her life, always the "class clown" of the mischief.

Silver Chariot was named after our beloved
Polnareff, who he resembled so strongly. Chariot was neutered in the Spring of 2022 after he became our last living male, so that he could live out his days with the girls.

Scarlett, much like their sister Bobbie, ended up staying with us almost on accident. Scarlett had a serious injury when she was only about 4 weeks old (her name derives from us calling her "the girl with the scar"), and we got attached during her aftercare and treatment.

We lost Bobbie to pneumonia, after over a week of aggressive treatment with little improvement, our wonderful vet helped her cross the bridge
peacefully.
Purl passed suddenly in her sleep one evening at home, snuggled with her brother.
Scarlett and Chariot were assisted across the bridge together after both received terminal diagnoses. They had spent every moment together since Purl's passing, and it seemed fitting to let them go together, too.

All our rats were such beautiful little souls, and wonderful products of the dedication, work, and love that we put into our them for the last 6 years.

Thank you for your support along the way.

We hope to return to the world of rats one day.
